Our focus
Deep Tech refers to innovations based on major breakthroughs in science and engineering, often built on years of research and proprietary technology to solve global challenges. Unlike regular tech, it focuses on transformative, long-term solutions in fields like AI, quantum, engineering biology and advanced materials — the UK government's designated frontier industries.

We specialise in Deep Tech because the social, environmental and economic returns are proportional to the ambition. It demands patient capital and deep technical understanding, and that's exactly what we're built to provide.

Matrix Bio empowered researchers to engineer exceptional hydrogels using robust prediction algorithms and AI-guided design suggestions. Its proprietary technology combined novel hydrogel engineering techniques with advanced computational tools to radically increase the speed and scale of 3D cell culture development and discovery. This unique approach enabled scientists to rapidly identify the ideal conditions for a wide range of cell types, accelerating drug development and developing new industry design tools.

Celltris is reimagining battery cell design to unlock fast charging for heavy electric vehicles. Its mechanical approach to cell terminal design enables battery packs to be built at a 40% reduction in component costs with a 60% cut in heat generation. This enables industrial vehicles to be charged 2-3x faster without the thermal penalty, removing the need for oversized cooling systems or bottlenecks from slow charge times.

CellVoyant is accelerating the development of novel stem cell-based therapies for chronic diseases. Its technology uses AI-first live cell imaging to predict and optimise stem cell differentiation, enable advanced cell analytics and ultimately unlock the controllable manufacturing of any cell and tissue in the body at scale. Built on foundational research at the University of Bristol, CellVoyant works at the intersection of cell biology, computing, engineering and machine learning to carry out its mission.
