Biofuel Evolution is driving the process industries’ transition towards net-zero to fuel a circular bio-economy. Its flagship product BEBlock harnesses the power of data analytics, microbial consortia and bio-electrochemical systems to transform food and organic waste into sustainable bio-based products. By developing a decentralised or localised system, its unique solution addresses critical environmental challenges by eliminating the need for energy-intensive biomass and carbon-intensive feedstock logistics.
VyperCore is accelerating and protecting compute-intensive applications from med tech to cybersecurity. Its novel processor technology changes the performance and security paradigms for existing general-purpose computing workloads. This enhances data processing and scaling capabilities for its customers, tailoring to their specific compute systems and requirements while also improving energy efficiency.
Scarlet Therapeutics is developing a proprietary platform that generates novel red blood cell-based therapeutics (tRBCs) to treat a wide range of diseases. Its technologies are underpinned by learnings from decades of research including the groundbreaking RESTORE clinical study run by NHS Blood and Transplant and the University of Bristol, investigating transfusion of lab-grown blood into patients. By generating tRBCs with high levels of therapeutic proteins from cell lines rather than from donated stem cells, Scarlet Therapeutics aims to address significant efficacy and manufacturing issues faced in the field.
